Motivation Results November 2008

The Motivation Theme for November 2008 was 'Autumn Light'. Members voted their selection at the Club Meeting on 12th November.

Club Meeting - Wednesday 12th November

This month's meeting, the first for the club's recently elected Committee, was presented to a full house at 'The Moving Stairs' in Boyle. The agenda included an excellent presentation from photographer, Tony Geoghan. A native of Dublin, Tony is a highly respected Wedding, Portrait and Commercial photographer and has his studio at Knockvicar, Boyle. He discussed his interests and photographic techniques and shared the stories of his travels and experiences with relaxed good humour.

This months Motivation League was presented by Conor Dowling. Conor discussed the amended voting procedure and stressed that members follow the submission guidelines outlined in a members HAND-OUT. Inconsistencies in the way members title and resize their submissions has been problematic in the past. Tony Murphy elaborated on the resizing procedure and suggested that members use the free software that can be obtained on-line HERE. Tony also explains how to use the software HERE.

The results for the November Motivation, 'Autumn Light', will be posted shortly.
The MOTIVATION for DECEMBER is 'Silhouettes'. Members might get some inspirtion by reviewing some of the images in the following pages.

The NEW Motivation League Table will be available when this months results are processed.

The November meeting concluded with a brief explanation on Exposure Bracketing techniques. Tony showed how multiple exposures can be taken and married in photo editing software to realistically convey natural lighting.

A Club Members Photo-Shoot will be organised in the coming weeks to Kilronan Castle and Estate. Details will be circulated to members via text message when arrangements are finalised.
