Hot Air Balloons Photo Shoot Opportunity - 25th and 26th May

Hot Air Balloons taken during the 2010 event near Edgeworthstown by Tony Murphy

The Hot Air Balloons are returning to Lough Key Forest Park on the weekend of 25th & 26th May. Boyle Camera Club have received permission from the balloon event organisers, (weather conditions permitting) to allow up to 6 members inside the safety ropes to photograph the balloons inflating before take-off.

This is likely to be a very busy weekend in the Forest Park, as it coincides with The Gathering Open Air Concert featuring Tommy Fleming and a fireworks display on Saturday evening. There is also the Ham Sandwich concert on Sunday.

Depending on the weather, it is proposed that the balloons will fly at about 6:15am and 5:30pm on both days. BCC committee would like to know if members are interested in taking up the offer of access behind the ropes? Depending on numbers, we cannot guarantee that you will get (a) the opportunity, or (b) your preferred option, but we will try our best to accommodate all, one way or another. The final decision will ultimately rest with the organisers.

With this in mind, anyone interested should respond via Andy's post on the CLUB FORUM asap indicating; NAME - DAY and PREFERRED TIME (6.15am or 5.30pm) for the photoshoot, so that a schedule can be arranged.

Tony discussed a number of long-term organisation, storage and security methods.
Intermediate and Advanced - Jason Mallard discussed various options to editing RAW and JPEG image files.

This month's Photo Shoot takes place on Sunday 28th April at Lough Key Forest Park. Members will venture out onto the lake and visit Castle Island. Speed-boat trip costs €10. Life Jackets provided.
