Update on 11/03/25 Meeting

After our break: Tonights meeting was a great opportunity for members to share feedback and learn from each other.
The positive atmosphere and willingness to listen to constructive criticism can really help everyone grow, especially in a creative environment.
The mention of upcoming field trips also adds an exciting element to look forward to! (details coming soon for those that missed the meeting)

A FRESH START

 Alphabet Challenge

As some members know already from been proposed at the February club meeting and has started since
then is a fresh start on the Alphabet Challenge
Some members are aware of how it works, but for New members here is a run down on things you
 need to know.

This go to challenge is optional if you want to take part and is open to all ranking categories
 Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced
The plan is for you as a member to take photos in the shape of letters from the Alphabet 1 - 26
Take "A" for example, the right thing for you to do would be to photo anything that looks like in the
shape of "A" may it be branches in a tree or biros on your desk, the idea is for you to look around your
environment with camera in hand and this form of challenge is open to whatever you choose to shot in
the shape of the letters of the Alphabet of course.
What we don't want to see is a repeat of the same letter, so one picture an "A" or "S" etc.. is enough as
long as you finish up with 26 individual letters.
Another thing we don't need to see is the example taking a picture of a tree and hoping to
pass it as "T" or snapping a picture Car and saying its for "C"
If you take a picture of each letter of the Alphabet you will finish up with 26 photos and you have
from now until September's meeting to present it to other members.
We also ask for you to "Collage" all 26 images on your computer and print it off, presenting your
finished masterpiece to the club in September.
Click Here to see examples of finished collaged images
There is NO prizes in the end, so we are not asking you to be overly competitive thinking you have to
be better than the next person.
This new challenge is to encourage members to get out taking photos with an idea in mind.

 And that's it!
 Happy snapping everyone

Update on 11/02/25 Meeting

 After our break;
We saw Committee members each produce two random images they felt needed some critique from
members in the club. In general, feedback of any sort was talked amongst everyone with the committee
hopeful to plan for the month ahead with the same Idea only for all members to get involved by sharing
two images. Might not need to be random, especially if they have an interest of getting involved
in the IPF Distinctions, then now is the time to respond soon as they can, share and get active.
Tonight got some positive feedback as we move forward......

Tonight also saw the Idea of a New club logo being used on our social media outlets. With majority of
members showing their hand to the prospect of something different and more contemporary. Ideally this is still in the works......

It’s first come first served and when the rooms are gone people will have to find their own accommodation if they choose to book later .

Update on 19/11/24 Meeting

Last nights meeting: Last night we held our meeting a week later than our usual monthly meeting,
due to the weather forecast a week earlier, tough the weather didn't look promising yesterday as there were signs of snow during the meeting, we would like to thank the members that turned up especially
those whom had a long journey home and those who were wise not to travel.
After our break: We discussed the importance of understanding the "exposure triangle" lead by
M.Cooke with Questions and interest we continued for less than an hour before making out the door before the road conditions worsened.
Below are some links to you tube videos concerning the exposure triangle;
