Photo-Shoot planned for Castlecoote - 5th October
There is a club Photo-Shoot planned for Sunday, October 5th to Castlecoote House, near Roscommon Town. This has been arranged by member Dan Lonergan, who has fixed it for us to have free reign to take photographs both inside this recently restored grand house, and outside in the landscaped gardens.
These club outings offer a great opportunity for members to get to know each other, to swap information and news – and to pick up tips from the more experienced photographers there.
We will meet in the Crescent, Boyle (by the Clock Tower) at 1.30pm. If there is enough interest, we may hire a bus; otherwise we will car-share.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE US TO HIRE A BUS, PLEASE LET CLUB SECRETARY LOUISE COLE (086 0814683) KNOW BY 5PM ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 3RD.

September Photo-shoot at Strokestown House and Elphin
Boyle Camera Club Members at Strokestown House, Co. Roscommon.
Once again the weather was on our side for yet another successful Club Photoshoot. The event was organised by club members Dan Lonergan and Margie Dunne. 19 members gathers in Boyle and regrouped at the Windmill in Elphin. The club received a guided tour and were given free reign to examine the many artefacts and exhibits with their camera lenses.
The club then visited the House and Gardens at Strokestown. Blessed with good weather, it was a splendid opportunity to polish-up on macro skills. The knowledgable staff led members through the house which was a visual feast for interior photography.
Members collectively produced a very fine portfolio of images which can be viewed HERE.
Boyle Camera Club would like to sincerely thank the management and staff at Elphin Windmill and Strokestown House for allowing members a great opportunity to visit and photograph these exemplary Irish Heritage sites.
