Club Meeting - 11th September 2012

Welcome
Club Chairperson, Kit O'Connor welcomed members back after the summer break and in drawing attention to the forthcoming AGM, said he would be stepping down from his post as chair. During his term as chairperson and treasurer, Kit has been a great organiser and dedicated activist in supporting and promoting the club at every opportunity. He asked members to consider putting their names forward for available posts on the committee in the coming year. Current committee posts are; Chairperson, Secretary, Motivation Secretary, Treasurer, PRO and Technical Adviser. We hope to have representation from Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced groups on the committee. All club members and interested parties are welcome to attend the AGM in October, the agenda will be posted here shortly.

Joe Kennedy TM8_0636

Presentation
Joe Kennedy gave an excellent presentation on his photography, from shooting and developing film in the 1980s to his reluctant initiation into the digital age. Joe's black & white social documentary images, reflecting the influence of greats such as Killip and Cartier-Bresson, record for posterity, the faces and characters of an innocent and less stressed Ireland. Always self-critical and unassuming, Joe's images, many not seen before of Flickr, were an inspiration to us all!
