Weekend Away 2025

With the summer looming over us, we intend to spend our weekend away at Inishmore, County Galway July 11-13th

For a number of years now before we spend our weekend away we have asked members to organise their own accommodation and transport at your own convenience

The following message is from our social coordinator Ann Doherty:

We are heading to Inishmore island for our weekend away 11-13 July

There are 3 places where you can book in Kilronan which is the main village when you get off the ferry .

Aranisland Hotel .

2 nights per 2 person sharing.

B& B Chalets .. sea view

To book a room use the website

www.aranislandshotel.com

Pay 30% which is non refundable

The hotel will provide an evening meal for €30 for 3 courses. I will confirm at a later date if they will provide it for non residents .

Kilronan Hostel

Book online

www.kilronanhostel.com

For 2 nights B&B in a 6 bed dormer room.

Twin rooms were not available when I checked on line .

Pierhouse B&B

Info@pierhousearan.com

A double/twin room including breakfast. They just have a flat room rate in peak season so there is no single room rate. To confirm a reservation they will  take credit card details (Visa or Mastercard) to hold the reservation but there is no charge until guests arrive. These can either be emailed to them or you can call them @ 086-8227660 which is their winter contact number.

Cars are not allowed on the island but there are minibuses that will take us around . For more energetic people they can rent bicycles .

The ferry departs  Rossaveel, Connemara — Ticket prices start at €12 – €22 one-way and €17 – €34 for return ferry from Rossaveel.

People of a certain age holding a bus pass can go free provided they have their card .

It’s first come first served and when the rooms are gone people will have to find their own accommodation if they choose to book later .

(There is other accommodation/places on the island)

Could you please text me when you book a place & where you are staying so I can keep a record on the number who are attending.

(Please refer to WhatsApp group for price quotes at each stay)

(Ann can be contacted through the club WhatsApp group)

Email; boylecameraclubinfo@gmail.com to be added to the WhatsApp group (membership only).

The club has been to Inishmore in the past

Hopefully we can visit this scenic Island in the best of the summer

This is a weekend away with Boyle Camera Club so it is expected you bring your Camera equipment (please be cautious at all times)

Booking earliest is required as this is a busy time of year!
