BCC Exhibition in Association with Boyle Arts Festival - Selection of Photos

Last night, the club committee selected the photos to be printed from the 35 members submissions to this year's exhibition at the Boyle Arts Festival. If any member would like to take part they should send their photos to Margaret immediately (details here), late submissions will not be accepted after Friday 6th of July.

This year we have revised the existing format of printing and framing as follow;
  • Members photos will be printed to 16" x 10.5" (3:2) or 16" x 12" (4:3) aspect ratio. This is larger than the standard A4 size in previous years.
  • All frames will be 20" x 16".
  • Members will pay €30.00 towards costs and will have their printed and framed photo returned to them after the exhibition. The club will subsidise any additional cost in this regard. Members will pay the entry fee at the next club meeting on Tuesday 10th July.
  • The committee will hang the exhibition in Boyle Library which will be officially opened on Thursday evening, 26th July. Members are welcome to bring their friends and family.
  • All images submitted will be presented as a slideshow during the exhibition, this has proven very popular in previous years.
  • This year, the club have the opportunity to exhibit additional framed photos as a window display in one of the local shops. The committee suggested that work from the current exhibition at Gleeson's in Roscommon Town, be requisitioned for this. If members have other photos they would like to include in the window display, they should bring them to the next club meeting. In the event of oversubscription, a selection process will occur.
  • Exhibiting members are asked to 'sit' the exhibition for a brief period during the festival. A rota will be drawn up at the next club meeting. Should any member be unable to do this, they must nominate someone else to sit in their place.
  • Proceeds from sales will be donated to the designated charities.
  • The exhibition will run for the duration of the Boyle Arts Festival.
