Once again, the webmaster apologies for the delay in updates to the site.
The April club meeting very much followed the agenda outlined in the previous post.
Opening the meeting, Chairperson Andy Rimmer, discussed recent and upcoming exhibitions, notably the club's intention to exhibit photos in Gleeson's, Roscommon to coincide with the Lamb Festival. Members are asked to forward framed photos (preferably on an agricultural/sheep theme) to the committee before Friday 26th April.
Presentation
Jason Mallard spoke about a few of the most influential contemporary photographers about today and the impact they have on his own work. Among those discussed were Dave Hill and Gregory Crewdson.

Motivation
Desmond O'Dwyer presented this month's Motivation. The theme for April was "One Minute From Home". Hugh Rooney judged entries and gave personal critiques on selected shots. Members entries HERE.

Printed Images Section
This month members were asked to submit one image to the Print section. This event takes place every third meeting and is an open section for ALL. The winner is judged during the meeting by club members. This month's winner was “The Gate” by Debbie McCormack.
Next month's motivation theme set by Hugh Rooney is Pattern.

Group Sessions
Beginners - Tony Murphy discussed the necessity of having an organised approach to File Management. The simple task of uploading images is something we all do without thinking, far too often though, we rarely have an effective way of organising files so that they can be easily located, edited and transferred. Tony discussed a number of long-term organisation, storage and security methods.
Intermediate and Advanced - Jason Mallard discussed various options to editing RAW and JPEG image files.
Club Photo Shoot
This month's Photo Shoot takes place on Sunday 28th April at Lough Key Forest Park. Members will venture out onto the lake and visit Castle Island. Speed-boat trip costs €10. Life Jackets provided. Meet at Lough Key Visitor Centre at 10am. There will be the option to visit Trinity and other islands on the lake for an additional fee to interested members.
