The Boyle Summer Show was a great success this year and there were plenty of excellent photo opportunities for camera holders on the day. In the tent however, it was obvious that the photography section was very poorly represented. Perhaps the club needs to be more active promoting participation in this aspect of our local show next year! Well done to the participants though, in particular to 9-year old Gráinne Rooney, who won the Roscommon Herald perpetual trophy.
Members might be interested in taking part in the Elphin Agricultural Show which takes place this Saturday, 31st August. There is a photography section which has various categories;
- Class 250: Best Child Study Coloured
- Class 251: Best Animal Study Coloured
- Class 252: Best Landscape Coloured
- Class 253: Best Black and White Photo
- Class 254: Best Snapshot
- Class 255: Best Celebration Photograph
- Class 256: Best old photograph
Prizes; 1st Prize €15 2nd Prize €10 3rd Prize €5 Entry
Fee €2 per entry.
