Club Meeting Tuesday 10th September

Returning after the Summer break, our September meeting was a very busy affair. The meeting followed the scheduled agenda;

Opening the meeting, chairperson Andy Rimmer, welcomed members back after the summer break. Closure was given to this year's very successful exhibition in association with Boyle Arts Festival; all reprints have been dispatched, a new data projector has been purchased and Andy presented a cheque for €320 to Michelle Gilgarro for The Childrens Hospital, Crumlin, Diabetes Fund (Photo below).
Andy then reminded members that the October meeting will be devoted to the annual AGM. He presented a number of motions to members for consideration as they will be required to vote on these at the AGM (see earlier post below). A full agenda for the AGM will be posted here shortly.

5-Minute Photo
Donal Hackett gave an excellent presentation on his recent portraiture project. Inspired by the club's 52/52 challenge, Donal told of his search for subjects and the various techniques used to capture the images. Very entertaining and some excellent photography too!

Presentation
Tony Murphy discussed the club's web profile and showed how to navigate the BCC Website, Facebook page, Flickr and Forum. He encouraged members to contribute and share resources in these spaces. Members may not have been aware that they can post content on the club's Facebook page so Tony recommends members to 'Friend' it and keep up-to-date with happenings.

Motivation
Desmond O'Dwyer presented this month's Motivation. The theme for September was "My Irish Summer". John Walsh, from all the way over there in Australia, judged entries and gave personal critiques via video on selected shots. Members entries HERE.

Photo Shoot
At the meeting, a photo shoot to Ballina via Lough Talt was proposed for Sunday 15th September. However, due to the very bad weather on Sunday, it is doubtful that this went ahead (the author being one of those that stayed under his duvet!). We hope to reschedule this photo shoot to a later date.

Next Club Meeting is the AGM - Tuesday 8th October at 8pm, St. Joseph's Resource Centre, Boyle. Members of the general public are welcome to attend this meeting.
