Club Meeting - Wednesday 13th May

We had a full agenda to cover at this month's meeting which was chaired by Peter Boalch and was very well attended despite the beautiful Summer evening.
In this month's presentation, Tony Murphy addressed the mystery that is Digital ISO, in the third and final element of talks on 'The Exposure Triangle' series.

Conor Dowling presented the club's first Photo Competition, the theme was Springtime and members photos were judged by photographer, Anthony Hobbs, Head of Fine Art Media at the NCAD. Anthony's critique on the members photos and the competition results can be viewed HERE. He was particularly impressed by the quality of entries in the Intermediate and Beginners categories.

Conor announced the competition for 'Summertime' and encouraged members to make the most of the coming weeks to considers submissions before the closing date on 31st July.

June Motivation and Arts Festival Exhibition

The Motivation theme for June is 'Love Where You Live'. Members are asked to submit 2 images to info@boylecameraclub.com before 3rd June.

Boyle Camera Club will be presenting a Photographic Exhibition of members images as part of this year's Boyle Arts Festival. The theme of the exhibition is also, 'Love Where You Live'.
Members images will be selected from this month's Motivation for inclusion in the exhibition, so members that have not been regularly sending in their work, do make an extra effort this month to make a submission!
More details on the exhibition will follow. The club hope to establish a sub-committee to help organise the event, interested members can contact the club secretary via info@boylecameraclub.com.

At this month's meeting, members broke into groups to discuss issues relevant to Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced categories. The outcome of these discussions will be catalogued and addressed by the committee and communicated to membership at the next club meeting.

Club member and globe-trotter, Paraic Brennan, concluded the meeting with a very fine presentation showing images he has collected from his travels in Ireland and abroad. It was very much a case of 'every picture tells a story' and Padraic kept members entertained, as much by his fine stories as looking at his excellent images.
